Why the Sony Xperia Z2 is great for amateur film makers

Whether you want to record home movies or try something a little more daring, the Sony Xperia Z2 has a video camera packed with features to bring your videos to life. It’s the perfect phone for the amateur film maker, letting you record in4K Ultra HDand even add animated dinosaurs to your clips.

The most important new feature on the Xperia Z2’s video camera is the 4K Ultra HD video recording. It means that you can record videos that are four times sharper than Full HD so you can see every detail and even zoom into parts of the video while you’re watching it. And with 4K Ultra HD TVs becoming the standard, your new phone is well future proofed too.

Another new feature on the Xperia Z2 adds a bit of drama to your home movies. Timeshift Video is essentially a slow motion mode, capturing HD video at a whopping 120 frames per second (fps) before playing it back at the regular 30fps to slow things down. But the great thing with Timeshift is that you can choose which part of the video you want to play in slow motion. So you could be recording a football match and play back the build-up to a goal in regular speed before slowing things down for the shot.

If you want to try some video editing, then the Sony Xperia Z2 has a great feature that makes things easy. Creative effects let you play with the colours of your movies, add motion effects and even add a mirror image. It means you can create some really cool, unique and unusual videos to show off.

Along with the practical new video camera modes, Sony has thrown something fun into the Xperia Z2. AR Effect, which was introduced on theXperia Z1’s still camera, lets you add animations to your videos. You can have you friend being chanced by dinosaurs or record your kids in a world of fairies. Everything’s done automatically so it’s really easy to get great results.

The Xperia Z2 is a really social phone too. Even its video camera has social networking built into it. The Vine mode is the easiest way to upload your viral six second videos. And there’s Social Live, which lets you broadcast videos live to your Facebook wall so your friends can watch and comment on events as they happen.
