Google has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Nexus 6. Made by Motorola, it’s the first phone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop, so it comes with some great new features. And we’ve already got hold of one to show you all the best new bits.
A BRILLIANT NEW SCREEEN
The Nexus 6 is Google’s first phablet. That’s because it has an incredible 6″ Quad HD screen. But thanks to Motorola’s sleek design, the Nexus 6 doesn’t feel huge. It’s super slim at the edges and really light at 184 grams, so you can still hold it comfortably.
We really like that big screen. It’s got four times as many pixels as an HD screen, so everything looks pin sharp. And it’s really bright with natural colours. So it’s perfect for entertainment, whether you like to read, play games or anything else.
As well as the new screen, there’s new software, Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has a completely new look that we love. And it’s got some great improvements under the hood so things run faster and the battery lasts longer.
CHARGE UP IN MINUTES
Not that you need the Nexus 6 battery to last longer. It’s huge at 3,220mAh. And you can get six hours of use from just 15 minutes of charging thanks to its special new turbo charger. And when you have time to fully charge the phone, which doesn’t take long, you’ll have enough juice to last at least a couple of days.
And you’ll put that battery to good use as the phone is super-fast. It has a 2.7GHz quad core Snapdragon 805 processor that makes everything load instantly and run smoothly.
The last thing big new thing is the Nexus 6 13 megapixel camera. It has optical image stabilisation so photos are crisp. There’s a dual LED flash housed in a ring around the camera to give a more even light. And the software that runs everything is great, making colours look realistic.
