HAS LG REALLY MANAGED TO IMPROVE ON THE INCREDIBLE LG G2?
With the UK’s first Quad HD mobile screen and a revolutionary laser autofocus, the LG G3 is breaking new ground. And we love its modern, metallic new looks.
THE BEST BITS
- UK’s first Quad HD screen is beautiful
- The unique laser autofocus makes photos even better
- The phone is really small for its screen size
- Brushed aluminium finish looks stunning
- Battery life is astonishing
Stylish and powerful, the LG G3 is a great phone for just about anyone. But with its stunning screen, it’ll especially suit gamers and movie lovers.
A STUNNING SCREEN
We loved watching a movie on the 5.5” Quad HD screen. It’s nearly twice as sharp as a Full HD screen and it has really natural colours too. LG says the difference in picture quality between its new screen and a standard Full HD one is like the difference between a professional art print and a magazine – and we’d agree.
LG has created a brilliant camera crammed with the latest technology. It uses a laser to focus faster than you can blink, so every shot you take is crystal clear. And it has optical image stabilisation to stop the camera from shaking, which gives you smooth videos and sharp photos.
The first thing we noticed when we picked up the LG G3 was how light it is. It’s also really compact. The front of the phone is almost all screen, giving it a stylish minimalist look. That, coupled with the curved back, makes it comfortable to hold. And we really liked the brushed aluminium finish.
A BATTERY THAT KEEPS ON GOING
Amazingly, despite the huge Quad HD screen resolution and the super-powerful processor, the LG G3 has a great battery life. That’s because the software, screen and everything else have been made with efficiency in mind, so they use less power than normal. We think you’d get more than two days from a single charge.
Having the volume keys and power button on the back feels a little odd at first. It’s not a fatal flaw, and definitely helps to improve the style as there’s less space around the edge of the screen, but it takes a few days to get used to.
This could turn out to be our favourite phone of 2014. It brings some really great new technology, like laser autofocus and a Quad HD screen, that makes a big difference to what you can do with it. Plus it looks really good.
