HUAWEI REVEALS ITS FIRST SMARTWATCH AND A COUPLE OF UNIQUE WEARABLES

Huawei has been busy at MWC. The Chinese company has just unveiled its first smartwatch, along with a couple of interesting and unique wearables. Let’s take a closer look.

HUAWEI WATCH

Huawei’s first smartwatch might not have the most imaginative of names (yes, it’s called The Huawei Watch) but make no mistake, this is an impressive timepiece.

It looks great, and is easily attractive enough to give the LG Watch Urbane a run for its money in the style stakes. It runs on Android Wear and has a round face with a 1.4-inch AMOLED display. Plus, it’s the first Android wear device to be protected by super-tough Sapphire glass.

The Huawei Watch has all the usual Android Wear apps and functionality, so you can use it to check your emails, send messages and track those all-important daily steps.

HUAWEI TALKBAND B2

The Huawei TalkBand B2 is the new, updated version of last year’s TalkBand B1. This time round it’s got a more attractive design, and promises greater accuracy and better functionality. The curved metal screen is much more attractive than its plastic predecessor, and with a leather strap, everything about this wearable looks good.

Users can swipe through the 0.7-inch PMOLED touchscreen display to access various functions including a motion tracker, calorie counter, sleep monitor and gyro, and in a rather neat touch, there’s an earpiece located under the central module. Pop it out, stick it in your ear and voila! You’ve got a Bluetooth headset. As far as power goes, the 90mAh battery should last around five working days.

HUAWEI TALKBAND N1

The Huawei TalkBand N1 is a wireless headset and a lot more besides. It’s also a HiFi stereo capable of holding around 1,000 songs. And it’s a fitness tracker – sync it with your phone you’ll also be able to keep an eye on your calorie intake, steps taken and daily distance travelled. Oh, and you can also use it to make and take calls from your smartphone via Bluetooth.

The battery capacity is 68mAh, so smaller than the TalkBand B2 above which we were a little disappointed about, but it’s still enough for around three days of regular use.
