MWC day 2: Smart tech

TOP SMART TECH OF DAY TWO

There are loads of odd bits of smart tech scattered around MWC 2015. They do everything from unlocking the front door to transporting you into a virtual world. Here are our favourite smart gadgets from MWC day two.

DANALOCK

Danalock is a really handy smart door lock. By pairing to your smartphone, it’s able to unlock your door for you as you walk up to it. You can also send digital keys to friends and family that’ll unlock the door at a certain time of day or if you need to give someone temporary access to your house. Another cool feature is the ability to unlock your door from anywhere in the world. We suppose this might be handy in emergencies while you’re on holiday.

WHIPLASH

This aptly-named chair works with a VRheadset so you can feel like you’re actually travelling through the virtual world you’re seeing. It can flip you upside down, create the sensation offree-falling, or just give you the thrill of being in a car (if you like living life on the edge). It completely transforms the virtual reality experience – just ask that shellshocked guy at the back.

FIBARO MOTION SENSOR

If you’re looking for a stylish and smart home security device that can also automatically control your heating and lights, your only choice is the Fibaro Motion Sensor. This tiny gadget does a lot more than we thought possible, and it does it all while looking great.

IKEA HOME SMART

IKEA’s new range of furniture is designed to wirelessly charge your gadgets. The Home Smart furniture uses Qi wireless chargers to send power to smartphones, tablets and other gadgets, including the new Samsung Galaxy S6. IKEA will start the range with lamps, bedside tables and coffee tables, but we’re sure the Swedish company will think of more stuff we could use to charge our devices.
