Honor 6X revealed at CES 2017

Meet Honor 6X

Chinese manufacturer, Honor, is new to Carphone Warehouse, and today at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, we got a taste of what’s to come with the announcement of its new, mid-range Honor 6X smartphone.

For a phone in this price range, it offers some really significant features that will make a difference to your mobile life. Honor broke these down into three categories – camera, performance and battery.

Snap happy

The dual camera is the real star. On the back, there’s one 12MP lens, and another 2MP lens, which together let you perform some really high end tricks, like refocusing a picture once you’ve taken it.

You can also create a professional-looking blur effect in the background of your portrait shots, just like some of the more expensive flagship models. Plus the phone also has an 8MP camera on the front.

Need for speed

Regarding performance, under the bonnet is a fast, brilliant multitasking octa-core processor, which can easily cope with graphic-intensive games, and using multiple apps at once. And the phone also comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB memory as standard.

Double or nothing

Honor boasts that this phone has up to double the battery power of some of its closest rivals, and at 3340mAh, it sure packs a punch. Use it conservatively, and you’ll get more than two days out of it. But if you use it a little more frequently, you should easily get at least a day and a half’s usage.

Baby soft

The design of the Honor 6X isn’t particularly unique, but its curved metal body makes it really comfortable to hold. Honor’s CEO, no the other hand, compared the sandblasted back of the 6X to the softness of a baby’s skin.

We’re not so sure, but the handset does remind us of some more expensive mid to high-range phones. Plus it also has a curved 5.5-inch Full HD display, which not only looks great but delivers a top quality image.

You’ll also get the new "eye comfort" mode, which removes blue light from the screen to make viewing easier. And we can’t forget the super fast fingerprint scanner, allowing for multiple prints.

The Honor 6X will be available from Carphone Warehouse very soon, in three different colours - including grey, silver and gold.
