Using your PS4 with your smartphone

You might have got a new PlayStation 4 for Christmas but did you know you can use it with your smartphone? The redesigned PlayStation®App lets you make the most of your games with your phone. Here’s what it lets you do.

GET EVEN MORE FROM YOUR GAMES

With your smartphone connected to your PS4 you’ll be able to get even more out of the top games that are coming to the next generation console. Some games will let you use your phone as a second screen, so you might be able use it as a rear view mirror in racing games, while others will offer side games exclusively through the PlayStation®App. Unfortunately there haven’t been any games with second screen support yet.

CONTROL YOUR PS4 FROM ANYWHERE

With the PlayStation®App, you’ll be able to use your smartphone as a remote control for your console. You’ll be able to turn it on and off, browse the PlayStation® Network (PSN) and internet by swiping your phone’s screen and even download and update games from anywhere. That means you can have you games ready to play as soon as you get home.

STAY CONNECTED THROUGH THE PLAYSTATION® NETWORK

Sony wants to make gaming more social, which is why it created the PSN. You can talk to friends, upload achievements and throw down challenges all from your games console. And now, with the PlayStation®App and the PS4, you can keep up to date with everyone even if you’re away from your console. Having PSN on your mobile also means you can quickly respond to game invitation and get instant notifications from your PS4.
