Top tips for your new BlackBerry

If you’ve just got yourself a new BlackBerry smartphone, you might be wondering how to get the most from it. That’s why we’ve put together these handy BlackBerry tips that’ll help you find your way around your new phone.

BlackBerry AssistantBlackBerry Assistant

With BlackBerry Assistant you can use your voice to get things done. Just open the app and tell it to set reminders, send messages and more. It can do almost anything you can with your phone, making it a handy tool to get things done quickly or without using your hands. And when you talk to BlackBerry Assistant, it’ll talk back to you, so it’s eyes-free too.

But if you want to use it silently, like when you need to search the internet while in a meeting, you can. Just type instructions instead of saying them and BlackBerry Assistant will reply with written messages too.

Amazon App StoreAmazon App Store

Apps are a big part of what make a smartphone smart. And with the Amazon App Store, your new BlackBerry has access to around 400,000 of them. The apps you’ll find here are some of the most popular Android apps on the market. It might seem weird to install Android apps on a BlackBerry, but under all BlackBerry’s advanced security software is the Android operating system.

BlackBerry WorldBlackBerry World

If you want a BlackBerry-made app, or something designed specifically for your phone, BlackBerry World has loads. We’d recommend getting BlackBerry Protect first as it helps keep everything secure and lets you backup all your data in case anything happens.

Password KeeperPassword Keeper

The Password Keeper app will become your new best friend online. It remembers all your passwords so you can have a unique, super-secure one for each of your accounts. No one could remember 10 different random chains of letters, numbers and symbols, but Password Keeper can. And it can generate new passwords to make sure all your accounts are as secure as possible.
