How to use BlackBerry's touch keyboard

Make the most of BlackBerry

Are you excited by the idea of the new PRIV® by BlackBerry? The smartphone is the first Android-powered BB device, and it’s turning heads with its 5.4-inch dual-curved display and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

It’s important to remember that the physical keyboard is much more than 35 tiny buttons, however. It has the ability to totally streamline your mobile experience with intelligent touch functions, too…

On-key scrolling

Are you a bit of a social media junkie? If so, PRIV gives you the full screen experience by letting you scroll vertically with the keyboard. Simply swipe up and down over the physical keyboard as you normally would on the screen, only now your thumbs won’t obscure your viewing experience.

Flick to type

As you’re typing you’ll see suggestions pop up on-screen based on words BlackBerry thinks should come next, and what its learned from your writing habits. To insert them into your messages, swipe up from the bottom of the keyboard under the corresponding word. Big timesaver.

Swipe to delete

In a bit of a hurry and made a few spelling mistakes? No trouble - simply swipe from right to left to delete your previous word.

Fine cursor control

And, finally, to navigate through your whole message, double tap on the keyboard (without pressing any of the buttons) and you’ll be able to move the cursor by scrolling in any direction.
