Google Pixel 4/4 XL

Who’s it for?
The Google Pixel 4 is perfect if you’re looking for a flagship experience with a cracking low-light camera and impressive security.

The Pixel 4 and 4 XL share the same bold design – the Just Black version has a glossy back, while the Clearly White and limited edition Oh So Orange colours have a matte finish that make the handset super-comfy and easy to grip.

Both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have gorgeous screens that make watching shows and playing games a joy, no matter where you are. The smaller version has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ OLED screen, while the XL’s display is a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ OLED. They’ve both been rated A+ by the experts at DisplayMate, so you’re still getting an amazing picture even with the lower resolution.

What about the cameras? Both phones feature a dual 12MP wide lens and 16MP telephoto lens, but when it comes to the Pixel’s photography skills, it’s as much about clever AI as it is about the hardware. When you take a photo, the Pixel 4 takes up to 9 burst images and blends them together for the best results. That means your Instagram page is about to look a whole lot clearer, even if you’re capturing nightlife. The Pixel 4 and 4 XL are the ultimate sunset cameras, too. Thanks to Dual Exposure, you can capture detail both in the foreground and background simultaneously, instead of choosing where to focus.

Under the hood, both phones feature an octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor paired with 6 GB RAM. So, you can expect ultra-responsiveness no matter whether you’re browsing, working or gaming. There’s also a Titan M security chip, protecting your sensitive data and making the Pixel 4 much more secure.

These are the best iPhones ever, and you’ve got a choice of three – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Let’s start with iPhone 11.It boasts a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD Display, is water-resistant up to 2 metres, and features the same powerful A13 Bionic chipset as the other two new iPhones. The A13 is designed to deliver high performance with low power consumption, making it Apple's most efficient processor to date – and up to 20% faster. All that extra efficiency means you’ll get more battery life to keep doing the things you love.

The iPhone 11 also has a fantastic dual lens camera, consisting of two 12MP lenses: one wide-angle lens and another especially for those super wide-angle landscapes. Night mode also kicks in automatically to take great pictures in low light.

Basically, these are iPhone 11’s big brothers, with better quality cameras and displays. iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the Pro Max’s is 6.5-inches. The quality is spectacular, with incredible brightness and stunning contrasts

Samsung Galaxy S10

Who’s it for?
Fancy a flagship phone with an outstanding camera and amazing edge-to-edge display? Then go for a Galaxy S10.

Quite simply, the S10 is everything a phone should be. The profile is super-slim, and the front is pretty much all-screen, with its edge-to-edge 6.1-inch Infinity-O display spilling over the curved sides. The on-screen detail is incredible, with rich colours and fantastically deep blacks.

The S10’s True Vision triple camera captures every moment just as your eyes see it, even in low light. And in the daytime, shots are sharp and clear, even when you zoom in to the max.

Hidden under the display there'a neat piece of tech - an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. So no more smudging your rear camera as you search for a rear fingerprint scanner. Then there’s Powershare - a new feature that can bring a friend’s phone back to life, or give power to your own accessories like Galaxy Buds. All you need to do is place the two devices back to back.

As for storage, you’ve got the option of going for 128GB or 512GB. If you want more, you can add up to 1TB with a microSD card. That’s enough to store a sizeable movie library on your phone. Or pretty much every app you can think of.

There are three phones in the S10 family, with options for everyone. If you decide to go large with the super-sized Galaxy S10+, you get a bigger 6.4-inch display. Or if you go for the entry level S10e, you get a 5.8-inch display and dual (rather than triple) rear camera.

The Find X’s screen is the closest any manufacturer has ever come to designing an all-screen smartphone. There’s no notch on the phone’s high-quality metal and glass body, allowing more room for a gorgeous 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display.
