Samsung Galaxy J6 hands on

These days, it seems like we’re always talking about new Samsung handsets. Well, if they keep making them, we’ll keep reviewing them.

Off the back of the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus, Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy A6, let us introduce you to another very cool smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy J6. And with its beautiful screen and vivid colours, it’s certainly worth a look.

Like the A6, the J6 is in the mid-range category – but its slightly lesser specs make it a more affordable option. That said, it’s packed with features, so let’s dive right in.

First impressions

With its smooth curves and smart finish, the Samsung Galaxy J6 looks good and feels great. If you’re not a fan of bigger phones, this’ll be right up your street. It sits nicely in the palm of your hand, and it’s compact enough that you can use it with one hand.

Great screen for the price

One of the first things you’ll notice is how the display goes right to the edges of the phone. And wow, that display. Those 5.6-inches don’t half pack a punch, with an 18.5:9 screen ratio that gives you a full-on cinematic experience and vivid, bold colours. It’s not called an infinity display for nothing.

Cameras that catch it all

For a mid-range phone, the camera is right on the money. The J6 has a cracking 13MP camera on the back, giving you great-looking photos, whether it’s night or day. There’s some impressive detail, too, so your photos will always look top notch.

Around the front, the camera has three flash settings which should help get rid of glare – and give you the perfect selfie. And with masses of modes, stickers and filters – you can bring your personality to your pics.

Under the hood

With 32GB of storage space onboard, there’s lots of room for your apps, videos and music. Not enough? Whack in a microSD card and get up to 256GB.

The Galaxy J6 runs Google’s latest operating system – Android Oreo – out of the box, with plenty of features that will help improve your battery life and generally make your phone perform better.

When it comes to security, the J6 is on-point. There’s face recognition and a fingerprint scanner built-in, both of which will help you get into your new phone faster.

Our verdict

We only have positive things to say about the Samsung Galaxy J6. A great look and feel, a super screen and a quality camera – all for a nice price. Want one? Get it here.
