Introducing a couple of 4s
Two new Asus Zenfones are now available in Carphone Warehouse, the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Max. Despite what the supersized moniker may suggest, the Max isn’t the bigger premium version - it’s actually the cheaper of the two (but even so, it has some pretty impressive specs). Let’s check out both phones, and see what they’re made of.
Asus Zenfone 4 Max
Design and display
We’d describe the Zenfone 4 Max as a solid phone with a nice, weighty feel. Its rounded matt metal back is reassuringly grippy – this isn’t a device that’s going to be slipping out of your hand any time soon. The display is Full HD, measuring 5.5-inches from corner to corner.
The ZenFone 4 Max features an advanced dual lens 13MP camera, with a super wide-angle lens that lets you fit more friends and scenery into your shots. Meanwhile round the front, the 8MP selfie-camera has a soft light flash for realistic skin tones, with a beautification mode to make your selfies absolutely flawless.
There’s really no other way to describe it, the 5,000mAh battery is a whopper. Not only will it get you through a day of intense video streaming and other online action, but it can also double as a powerbank and charge other devices - very handy if your mate’s phone is running low and you owe them a favour.
You can buy the Zenfone 4 Max from Carphone Warehouse.
Asus Zenfone 4
Design and display
The Zenfone has an aluminium unibody with glass front and rear plates, giving it a premium look and feel. The 5.5-inch Full HD display is impressively bright, so you’ll be able to see what you’re doing on the sunniest of days.
The dual lens main camera on the Zenfone 4 is a step up from the Zenfone 4 Max, thanks to its bigger aperture (for clearer shots) and optical image stabilisation to get rid of any blurring. You can also use Pro mode to make your photos and videos look even better, by adjusting specific details like white balance, shutter speed and exposure.
Okay, so the Zenfone 4’s battery isn’t as humungous as the Zenfone 4 Max’s, but it still weighs in at a hefty 3,300mAh. That’ll easily see you through the whole day and into the night - and with fast-charging technology and USB Type-C, you can get 50% of power from a 36 minutes charge.
