Meet the Samsung Galaxy J3 and J5 (2016)

Samsung unveils new J-series smartphones

Samsung is dedicated to covering as many spots on the shelves as possible, with mobiles ranging in specs from the powerful Galaxy S7 edge, right down to thrifty pay as you go, E1200.

And smack bang in the middle, we now have the Galaxy J5 (2016) and the J3. This is what you need to know about Samsung’s new smartphones...

Samsung Galaxy J3

The lightweight J3 is fronted by a 5-inch HD display - immediately recognisable as a Samsung product with its rounded corners and slim-line design. On the back there’s an LED flash and 8MP sensor, which can be launched by double tapping the home button. And while we’re on cameras, there’s also a 5MP lens on the front for all your selfie needs.

Under the hood there’s a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, which will be more than enough to keep several apps running at once without slowing down the phone. Finally if its battery life you’re looking for, rest-assured the J3 will make it through the day with a 2,600mAh cell and Samsung’s power saving modes.

Samsung Galaxy J5

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is a revised version of last year’s model, which shared the same name. Just like the recently released Galaxy A3 and A5 (2016), Samsung has taken everything we loved about the original J5 and made it better.

On the face of it, the display has been pushed up from 5-inches to 5.2, now dominating over 70% of the front of the smartphone. The bezel that surrounds the screen has been reduced, which is good news, meaning the handset itself hasn’t actually grown in size dramatically.

On the back there’s a powerful 13MP camera sensor with an LED flash, and with thanks to a massive f/1.9 aperture, letting in lots of light, your photos will be really bright, clear and sharp.

On the inside, the J5 has the same 1.2GHz quad-core processor as the J3, but with more RAM at 2GB. This means that high-powered apps, like games and movies, will run smoother because there’s more power available.

If you like the sound of the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016), follow the link to order your own. The J5 will be coming soon.
