Samsung Galaxy J1 vs Galaxy Fame

If you’re coming to the end of your contract with the Samsung Galaxy Fame, you might be on the lookout for something a bit more current. Like the new Samsung Galaxy J1 perhaps? Let’s see how the two phones compare.

Design

Mobile tech has really come on in the past couple of years since the Fame was released, so you'll notice a huge improvement with the J1’s design and display.

The J1's screen size has been boosted up to 4.3-inches compared with the Fame’s 3.5-inches. And it’s also a lot lighter and slimmer, making it much more comfortable to hold and use.

Camera

The J1’s 5-megapixel camera unfortunately hasn’t seen any improvements since the Fame, but at least the boost in screen resolution will make a difference as to how images look on the phone. And taking selfies on the J1’s 2-megapixel front-facing camera is even easier with ‘Palm Selfie’, which lets you simply hold out the palm of your hand to take a snap.

Performance

Some of the J1’s best features are under the hood – like speedy 4G, for example. There’s also a much more powerful processor hard at work, which will be a big help when it comes to multitasking. Whether it’s streaming movies online or playing the best new mobile games, the J1 can handle it.

Finally, there’s also been an increase in battery capacity, which means you can ultimately get more time away from the plug socket.

Verdict

If your Galaxy Fame is running a bit thin, and you’re looking for something familiar, the J1 is a natural progression. It’s bigger, better and faster and, most importantly, it won’t break the bank.
