5 reasons to buy the LG Leon 4G

The LG Leon 4G is one of LG’s fantastic new budget smartphones, and it’s now available at Carphone Warehouse.

If you’re looking for a few good reasons to make the LG Leon 4G your next smartphone (apart from the great low price) then you’re in luck – we’ve got five of them.

1. Looking good

The LG Leon 4G is an attractive, solidly designed phone that feels good to hold. It’s weighty and robust, but also gently curved so it sits comfortably in your hand. Power and volume buttons are located at the rear in typical LG style, giving the phone a clean, uncluttered feel. The brushed aluminium finish on the back is similar to the higher-priced LG G3, adding to the premium look.

2. Screen time

Despite its fairly low resolution we found the screen nice and sharp, with vivid colours and decent brightness levels. LG has removed a few layers between the screen and touch sensor, and it seems to have made a difference. Everything feels responsive and accurate to the touch, and swiping between menus is slick and smooth.

3. Snap happy

The LG Leon 4G has a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 0.3MP front-facing selfie-snapper. There’s a lot more to any camera than mere megapixels though, and this phone is packed with some nifty photography features. In addition to the standard autofocus you’ll find touch-to-focus and face detection, and there’s a burst shot mode to help you capture fast-moving action. LG’s famous gesture control is included, allowing you to activate the selfie camera without touching the phone screen - you simply make a fist that the phone will recognise, and then unclench it.

4. Welcome to Lollipop

The LG Leon 4G is running Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google’s latest operating system. That means it’s packed with the same features and functionality you’ll find in any higher end smartphone. LG’s own interface is also present and correct, with its clean, minimalist look and crisp typefaces. Lovely.

5. 4G speed

This is a 4G phone, giving you a speedier and vastly superior internet experience than your old 3G device. You’ll be able to enjoy video streaming, play your favourite online games, and quickly download apps even when you’re out and about. There’s also a speedy Snapdragon 410 processor hard at work behind the scenes. It’s a quad core, which gives you the power to multi-task and switch between apps incredibly quickly.

If you’ve already got your hands on an LG Leon 4G, let us know how you’re getting on with it. Can you suggest any more good reasons to buy it? Please comment below.
