Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5

We've managed to get our hands on the Nexus 6, and what better device to compare it to than the Nexus 5.
Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5

Hot on the heels on our comparison of the Nexus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4, we’ve managed to get our hands on the much anticipated Nexus 6, made by Motorola. To see it in action, check out our comparison video below.

Straight off the bat you’ll notice the Nexus 6′s screen is much bigger than its little brother’s at nearly 6-inches. But, that’s not all – the super-sharp Quad HD resolution gives around twice as much detail as the Full HD LG Nexus 5. As a result all your videos, games, and pretty much everything else will look much better. This is the next level in screen technology.

Of course, a bigger screen means a bigger body. The Nexus 6 is larger and a bit heavier than the 5, but don’t let that discourage you. The clever chaps at Google who designed it have managed to keep it as good-looking as the rest of the fleet. The edges are super slim, so it doesn’t feel gigantic when you hold it, but it’s important to bear in mind that unless you’ve got especially large hands, texting and emailing will be a two hand job.

The camera has seen one of the biggest upgrades. The Nexus 5’s 8 megapixel shooter has been replaced with a 13 megapixel one. Images are sharper, and the optical image stabilisation that stops image blur has seen an upgrade too. There’s also a brilliant dual flash that sits on either side of the lens, which works very well.

One of our favourite new features on the 6 has got to be its amazing battery capabilities. Due to a larger, more powerful display, the Nexus 6 needs more juice to keep it going. As a result there has been a whopping 40% increase on the Nexus 5′s battery. It also comes with a Turbo Charger that will inject six hours worth of use from a mere 15 minute charge.

We love the Nexus 5 – its compact size, great design and powerful processor make it a great all-rounder. It’s also set to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop software update soon, so it’ll have the same software as the 6. But, the Nexus 6 really is the next level for entertainment, and the battery is fantastic.

So, what do you think of this awesome new powerhouse phablet? Do you love it as much as we do? Leave a comment below to let us know.
