LG G Flex review

We love how durable this phone is. With its plastic-based curved screen and self-healing back, the LG G Flex will stand up to more than any other high end smartphone.

DESIGN

The LG G Flex is the world’s first phone to have a curved screen and body. It gives it a unique look and feel and, because the screen’s so big, actually makes calling easier. That’s because the phone curves with the shape of your face so you get better sound quality. And the curve helps minimise screen reflections so you can see more. It really is a very clever design.

CAMERA

The 13MP camera on the LG G Flex is very good. On a day out in the sun it coped well with bright light and shadow, and even took sharp shots of the kids running around. And the big screen makes a fantastic view finder and is perfect for looking back on your photos.

ENTERTAINMENT

That huge screen is also ideal for movie lovers. There was something about that curved screen that made it look better than most, even with the relatively low 720p HD resolution. Apparently it’s because the curve cuts down on reflections in the screen and perfects viewing angles to make things even clearer.

PRODUCTIVITY

The keyboard on the LG G Flex is really accurate because it’s so big. That makes typing long messages and emails for work a lot easier. And with 4G mobile internet you can send emails, work remotely and a lot more really quickly.

BATTERY

The battery life on the LG G Flex is phenomenal. It’ll last days between charges, even if you use the phone a lot. We think that’s got something to do with screen resolution. It’s a bit low when compared to other top of the range phones. Plus the battery itself is huge.

UNIQUE FEATURES

We’re fascinated by the back of the G Flex. Scratch it with a set of keys and you can watch the mark slowly disappear. The same thing happens if you drop it onto a concrete floor. It means the phone always looks brand new.

And the screen, of course, is remarkable. To get it to curve, LG made it out of plastic instead of glass and then coated it with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. That actually lets it flex slightly, so if you accidentally sit on it, the screen doesn’t shatter.
