Huawei Mediapad M1 review

Chinese tech giants Huawei have a new tablet in the mix called the Mediapad M1 - here's how it got on in our review
Huawei Mediapad M1 review

Slim and stylish with stereo speakers and lots of power, we really like the Huawei MediaPad M1.

Huawei has really excelled with the looks of the M1. It’s really slim and lightweight. It’s got a metallic finish. And the screen dominates the front of the tablet. All of which adds up to a stylish looking device that’s super portable.

We like the 5MP camera on the back of the M1. It’s really handy to have for quick photos. There’s also a 1MP camera on the front, which is alright for video calls but we’d have preferred it to be a little sharper.

The 8” screen and quad core processor are perfect for games and movies. There’s enough power to keep everything running smoothly, even when we were playing powerful apps like Asphalt 8. And the screen’s good enough to make things look really nice.

We love that the M1 is 4G ready. It means we could connect to the internet from anywhere and get really fast speeds. That made it easy to send emails and get document from our work computer through DropBox cloud storage. And the keyboard’s nice and big because of the great screen size, which makes typing accurate.

The M1 lasts for ages between charges. It’s got a big battery and its screen is lower resolution than some of its competitors, so it doesn’t use a lot of power. We easily got two days use from the battery while we were testing it.

When we were watching a movie on the M1, we realised how much we like stereo speakers. The ones on this tablet face you, which makes them sound even better. You get really clear, loud sound that helps immerse you in your movies.
