Barcelona – HMD, the Finnish company that holds the rights to the Nokia brand on mobile devices, has lifted the lid on some awesome new Nokia phones.
A new range of Nokia Androids is coming soon, and we’ll check them all out in a minute. But first, we’re going to start with a big announcement about another phone… because a much-loved classic is making a comeback.
The Nokia 3310 is back
It’s the news that old-school phone fans have been waiting for. A new and improved version of the 17-year old Nokia 3310 is being re-launched this year.
The Nokia 3310 is one of the most iconic phones of the early mobile years. It was well known for its amazing battery life, near-indestructible design, and famously addictive Snake game.
And now it’s back.
The new Nokia 3310 is instantly recognisable, but make no mistake – this 2017 version has had an overhaul. It’s still a feature phone – so it doesn’t use the Android OS, and there’s no mobile internet – but it now has a colour screen and re-designed keys. It’s also lighter and slimmer than the old version.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on the Nokia 3310 to play Snake, however, you’re in luck. If you go onto Facebook Messenger, you can now find it under the ‘game’ tab. Just watch your tail.
New Nokia smartphones
HMD also announced details of its fantastic new range of Android Nokia phones. There seems to be something for everyone here, from a low-priced budget device to high-end handsets with premium specifications. And according to HMD, all these phones are going to deliver a near stock Android experience, without any unnecessary bloatware.
Nokia 6

The Nokia 6 (previously available in China-only) has been rolled out, and is exclusively available from Carphone Warehouse. It has 3GB RAM, a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 16MP camera. It’ll be available in silver, blue and black.
There’s also a limited Arte Black edition with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Again, this is a Carphone Warehouse exclusive.
Nokia 5
The Nokia Core is a solid mid-range offering. It's fronted by a stunning 5.2-inch HD display, and it's only 8mm thick. Its standout feature is the 13MP camera with a dual tone flash – making indoor pictures look more natural. Under the hood there's an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Not to mention an 8MP front-facing camera.
Nokia 3
The Nokia Essentials is the budget model of the bunch. But like all the other smartphones on this page, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box. This is the very latest Google software and it includes battery-saving functionality, better notification control, improves security and over 1,500 emojis.
If you’d like to get your hands on one of the new Nokias, register your interest at Carphone Warehouse now.
