Meet the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

The new and improved Galaxy A5

Just like the smaller Samsung Galaxy A3, the A5 is back for 2016. It’s bigger and better than last year’s version, and offers a great, all-round smartphone experience for a modest price. This is what it can do…

A quick look

The A5 has a 5.2-inch Full HD display, (bigger than the S6 and S7’s), which is both bright and clear. It also has very little surrounding bezel, so that large screen looks even bigger, taking up 72.5% of the body of the phone.

There’s also a reduced camera bump around the back, so the phone will sit a lot more flush when face up on a flat surface.

The camera’s megapixel count has stayed the same at 13MP, but with a lower aperture of f/1.9, it can take in more light than before. This will give a greater depth of field to your photos, adding more blur to the background. You’ve also got Samsung’s Quick Launch function on board, meaning you can easily start the camera with a double tap of the home button so you never miss the action.

Under the hood

On the inside there are two quad-core processors, working together to create a smooth smartphone experience. One processor will look after the big jobs, like videos and games, and the other will look after the smaller stuff, like texts. That gives the best balance of performance and battery life so you can enjoy the phone for longer.
