Introducing the HTC One A9

Breaking the mould

When the One M9’s arrived in March, it largely struggled against competition from the likes of Samsung, LG and Sony. The legacy might be all about to change, however, with the arrival of the HTC One A9.

The A9 is a true testament to the company’s all metal design. It’s fronted by a 5-inch Full HD display, features Android Marshmallow – Google’s most up to date OS – and has a handy fingerprint sensor embedded within the home button underneath the display.

Key specs

Under the hood, there’s 32GB worth of internal storage, a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, a 2150mAh battery, and the option to add a microSD card of up to 2TB. Although this technology exists, it’s unreasonably expensive at the moment, so we’d recommended you stick to a 128GB card, which the A9 also supports.

The rear camera weighs in at 13MP, with Full HD video recording capabilities, while the front-facing lens sports HTC’s trademark UltraPixel™tech.

All round it looks like a very capable handset. It fits comfortably in the pocket and palm, and the premium design is a real head-turner.

To see the A9 in action, make sure you check out our hands-on video at the top of this post, and if you’re looking to upgrade your phone, you can order the handset right here.
