How much more tech will be made redundant?

What will we have forgotten about by 2020?

A trip down memory lane

We’ve recently seen the release of Microsoft Continuum – a powerful gadget that invites you to forget about your computer, and use your smartphone in its place. The trend of tech replacing other tech is nothing new, and isn’t one that will tail off any time soon, but where will we be by the end of the decade?

Netflix and chill?

Remember having to actually exit your home to pick up a film. Rental stores like Blockbuster used to be for a special occasions back in the day. Now we just delve head first into a weekend-long Netflix binge.

"Got the time?" No, sorry - my watch is out of battery

People might still wear real watches, but they’ll learn soon enough that having a smartwatch is much cooler.

No more boring long-haul flights

A large number of airlines now offer Wi-Fi. Imagine that? The internet, on a plane! What will they think of next?

Blind dates are so last century

With the advent of social media and Tinder, we won’t ever have to endure the awkwardness of blind dates. Unless we really want, of course.

No need for all those keys

Soon we won’t need keys with smart locks in our smart homes. We just need to make sure we don’t lose our smartphones.
