Downloads of the Week: Bank Holiday Weekend

The August Bank Holiday is finally here! To make sure it’s packed full of the best entertainment, here are some suggestions on what you should download to make the most of your long weekend.

The Shepherd’s Crown by Terry Pratchett

In what was perhaps one of the most significant book events of the year, Terry Pratchett’s The Shepherd’s Crown was released earlier this week. It is the final instalment in the phenomenally successful Discworld series, and came out almost six months after the writer’s death.

Without giving too much away, the story follows Tiffany Aching and charts her fight against an old enemy that is steadily growing in strength. Will she be able to repel the invader?

Head over to iTunes or the Google Play Store to get your copy and find out!

Mobile app

Waze, app,

Waze is a nifty community based travel app where drivers upload up-to-the-minute traffic advice - so you can make your journey as stress-free as possible.

The bank holiday traffic jams are infamous and Waze can help you stay ahead of the curve and out of the queues. It has the world’s largest community of drivers and you can pass on useful tips too.

The app also allows you to add friends and keep others informed of your arrival time.

Download from Google Play Store or App Store.

Compton by Dr Dre

With Straight Outta Compton hitting cinemas we just had to put Dr Dre’s recently released album Compton in our top downloads list.

The album has had rave reviews from music critics and features Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Cube plus many more.

Head over to Spotify to have a listen for yourself.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Fury Road, Mad Max

Now available to download, Mad Max: Fury Road sees Tom Hardy reprise the role made famous by Mel Gibson in the late 70s.

Set in a dystopian future where water and plant life is scarce and the landscape is dominated by burning desert, Mad Max: Fury Road is a thrilling adventure complete with crazy characters and stunning action sequences.

The film also has some of the best and most unique special-effects you'll ever see.

Check it out for yourself by heading over to iTunes or Google Play Store.
