Plan the ultimate weekend with your smartphone

The weekend is here - air punch!

Hey, Friday - where have you been hiding? We’ve been looking for you since Monday.

The arrival of everyone’s favourite day of the week means the weekend is on the horizon, so if you haven’t already, you need to start making some stellar plans to celebrate. If you’re locked in the office for a few more hours however, your smartphone is the perfect way to get the party plans underway.

Tossup from Microsoft

Everyone has their own agendas, and getting your mates in the same place can sometimes be a bit difficult. However, with Microsoft’s new app, Tossup, you can get everyone on the same page right from the off.

It works by you asking a question like “Who’s up for drinks tonight at The Red Lion”, and your mates can either reply through the app or over SMS, before taking part in a voting poll. Yelp ratings are also built in, so you will know what sort of experience you can expect if going somewhere new.

Available for iOS and Android.

Share the music with Spotify

Did you know that with Spotify you can spread the joy by using collaborative playlists?

If you’ve got a big party or holiday coming up this weekend, this is a great way of getting everyone involved, and it should go some way towards stopping the usual bickering about who should be in control of the music.

To get started simply create your own playlist, click the ‘Collaborative Playlist’ option, and share it with your friends. See more of our top Spotify tips here.
