5 awesome celebrity apps

In the bad old days, it was difficult to keep track of our favourite stars. They seemed content with merely doing the things they were famous for – appearing in a movie, putting on a show - and then spending the rest of their time living in relative privacy.

Thankfully, social media and reality TV came along, allowing us to keep in touch with the innermost thoughts of celebrities every single hour of the day. And we’re especially pleased to see them staking their claim in the mobile world by releasing their very own apps. Here's a few of our favourites.

Keith Lemon’s Mouthboard

iOS (79p) / Android (60p)

Keith Lemon is our favourite celebrity, as you might expect. If you feel that your life is lacking because you haven’t got Keith’s wit, wisdom or moustache, then this is the app you’ve been waiting for... because Keith Lemon’s Mouthboard lets you replace your own inferior mouth with Keith’s charismatic kisser instead.

Even better, it lets you speak Keith’s famous one-liners, giving others the impression that you’ve instantly become funnier, wiser and more attractive.

Kim Kardasahian: Hollywood

iOS (FREE) / Android (FREE)

We all want to be Kim Kardashian, which makes waking up every morning and not being Kim Kardashian a source of endless frustration.

Thankfully, Kim’s created the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game for us to find out just what it’s like to be her.

And if the game is an accurate representation of her life, that means working hard to increase your fame, fortune and celebrity status in Hollywood, and investing in endless in-app purchases to help you achieve your goals.

Snoopify: Snoop Dogg’s mobile photo app

iOS (FREE) / Android (FREE)

Here’s a fun photo app that lets you transform your boring old pics into Snoop-themed, ghetto fabulous masterpieces.

Some of the accessories available to pimp up your pics include gold chains, sunglasses and strangely, David Beckham’s head.

William Shatner’s Shatoetry

iOS (79p) / Android (60p)

Shatoetry is much less rude than it sounds, thankfully. It’s simply an app that lets you create poetry, and have none other than Captain James T. Kirk recite it for you.

You create your poem by choosing your words from a scrolling list, inserting them into your own composition, and then – perhaps most importantly – you adjust the length of pauses between words.

When your poem’s complete and everything’s been suitably 'Shatified', click the charmingly titled ‘Shat That’ button to hear the man himself. Recite. Your… lines. In his own. Inimitable. Style.

Jamie’s Recipes

iOS (FREE) / Windows Phone (FREE)

This final app is one of the more unusual ones on this list, because here we see a celebrity sticking to what they do best.

So for all you budding Jamie Olivers out there, Jamie's Recipes gives you access to mouth-watering step-by-step recipes, and how-to guides helping you master all sorts of culinary skills.

You’ll need a subscription to access the whole collection of recipes, but you get 15 free ones to kick you off.

What are your favourite celebrity apps? Do you have any suggestions for celebrity apps you’d like to see? A home budget app by 50 Cent perhaps? Don’t be shy – share them with us below.
