Sync your phone tablet and PC with Pushbullet

Have you ever wanted to get your WhatsApp notifications on your PC, or wirelessly send a photo from your phone to your tablet? With Pushbullet you can create a bridge between all of your devices and effortlessly share everything between them.

The basics of Pushbullet

The basic idea of Pushbullet is to connect your phones, tablets and PCs so you can share stuff between them easily. You can send links, photos, maps and more from your phone to your PC or tablet and vice versa. You can even send stuff to groups of devices and your friends.

All you need to do is install the Android or iOS app on your phone or tablet and then download the software on your PC. You can get it as a plugin for your browser (including Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari) or a standalone program for Windows and Mac. Once you’ve got the software, create an account and get sharing.

Get text messages on your computer

Pushbullet SMS

Once Pushbullet had mastered making sharing simple, it moved on to automatically connecting your favourite gadgets. So now Pushbullet can send and receive text messages on any device, as long as you use an Android phone.

That means when you’re at work, you can organise a night out with your friends without ever picking up your phone.

It’s also much easier to talk to someone when you’re typing messages on a proper keyboard rather than a touchscreen.

Universal notifications

Pushbullet notifications

Another handy feature of Pushbullet on Android is its ability to send notifications between your devices.

You can set it up to send all your notifications to your computer, or select a few apps that you want to prioritise. You can even dismiss notifications from every device, so you don’t have to clear them once on your PC and then again on your phone.

Copy and paste everywhere

One of our favourite features on Pushbullet is its ability to sync your clipboard across all your devices. That means if you copy something on your phone, you can paste it on your PC seconds later without having to send emails to yourself or do anything else.

To get universal copy and paste working, you’ll need to switch it on in the settings of each device you want to use it with.

Use Pushbullet for up to the minute news

If you want to be kept bang up to date with something, like the latest first drives from Top Gear or new game deals from Steam, Pushbullet has a really useful channels feature.

All you do is register with a channel that you think sounds interesting and then you’ll get links pushed straight to your devices whenever there’s an update.

It’s like having an RSS feed, but everything comes straight to your notifications so you don’t need to keep opening another app.

Pushbullet is the most useful app for those of us who don’t want to be glued to our phones and really is worth trying out.

If you’ve already got on board with Pushbullet let us know your favourite tips and tricks for the app in the comments below.
