App Review: Mobile-pocket

Every penny counts these days, so if you go shopping armed with a stack of loyalty cards and vouchers, you’re not alone. It’s a good way of keeping costs down and saving some cash.

But beware – according to the guys at mobile-pocket, you could be in danger of something called card chaos.

If you’re that annoying person at the checkout, holding up the rest of the queue as you frantically search for the correct loyalty card or voucher, then you’ve got card chaos. And what’s more, you’re inflicting it on the rest of us.

Luckily though, Mobile Pocket has created a free app to help us all out.

What’s it all about?

Mobile Pocket lets you store the details of all your loyalty, club, customer and membership cards on it. Then instead of showing actual real-life cards, you simply use your phone to flash the app at the impressed checkout person.

Cardsync, card sense

Mobile Pocket comes with a handy feature called Cardsync that lets you restore all your cards if your phone gets lost or stolen. You can log into the app from anywhere and your card details will all be there.

Cardsync also lets multiple users log in to your account at the same time. So you can share your card benefits with the whole family.

How does it work?

Loading your cards onto the app is simple. You can scan the barcode or QR codes of your card, or type the details in manually.

Then you’re free to ‘drag and drop’ your cards to your heart’s content, and display them in the exact order you want.

If it’s a recognised card you’ll be able to view contact details, a storefinder and member benefits.

And you’ve got the ability to quickly browse through your vouchers and coupons, so you need never miss another opportunity to save a few pennies or just BOGOF (‘buy one get one free’).

Nice app, shame about the ad

Unfortunately Mobile Pocket has rounded off all their great work by producing a wonderfully inappropriate advert with the most annoying voiceover of all time. Try not to let it put you off:

Still interested? The Mobile Pocket app is free to download on iOS, Android or the Windows Phone.

If you’ve got Mobile Pocket up and running already, let us know what you think of it.
