Introducing the Huawei P8
Look & Feel
The P8 is an attractive, premium phonewith a super-slim aluminium unibody. It’s going to be available in four colours; Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey on the 16GB model, and Carbon Black and Prestige Gold on the 64GB version.
As for the display, the P8 has a bright and sharp 5.2” Full HD screen - this is a step up in size from the Ascend P7’s 5” HD screen.
The P8 comes with a front-facing 8MP selfie-camera, and a 13MP rear camera that fits flush with the back.
Huawei reckons this rear camera takes great photos in bright sunlight, and that it works especially well in darker conditions thanks to its ‘low light enhancement’.
Plus, you can transform your photos with a range of pretty cool sounding special effects. These include a ‘light painting’ mode where you can apparently “create spectacular and unique night shots”.
How it works
Behind the scenes, there’s an octa-core 64-bit processor hard at work, and it all runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop for a slick, smooth experiencewith no obvious lag.
As for storage, you’ve got a choice - either 16GB or 64GB. If you want more, you can add up to 128GB with a microSDcard.
And last but not least, the 2600mAh battery should last a day and a half of normal usage, or a full day of heavy use according to Huawei.
So what do you think? Do you like what you've heard about the Huawei P8 so far? Could you see it becoming your next Android smartphone? Feel free to share your thoughts and comments below.
