BlackBerry reveals Siri-like personal assistant

BlackBerry is taking on Apple’s Siri, Google Now and Microsoft’s Cortana personal assistants with BlackBerry Assistant.

BlackBerry Assistant will apparently learn how you phrase questions over time, so it’ll adapt to you rather than the other way around.

And you can get it to do stuff either by talking to your phone or by typing, which makes it a practical assistant if you want to set up reminders while in a meeting or on a busy train.

It looks to be able to handle all the tasks we’ve come to expect of personal assistants, from reading email to setting alarms.

BlackBerry assistant will launch with BlackBerry OS 10.3 later this year.
