MWC Day 2: Wearables

Here are some of our favourite wearables from day two of MWC.
MWC Day 2: Wearables

It’s day two of MWC 2015 and we’ve been seeing plenty more wearables, including the fastest funded Kickstarter project ever, Pebble Time. Here are our favourite wearables from MWC day two.

Pebble, the company that helped make smartwatches popular, showed off its new product for the first time today. The Time has set popularity records on crowdfunding website Kickstarter ahead of its launch and we can see why. It has a colour e-ink screen, which means you get fantastic battery life without losing out on usability. And the new operating system makes it easier to use than the old Pebble.

Samsung has introduced a new version of its Gear VR headset that works with the new Samsung Galaxy S6. We’ve always fancied ourselves as globetrotters, but we’ve only got as far as Barcelona this week. Thankfully the Gear VR has taken care of the rest.

If you want a smartwatch that oozes style, you want the Swiss-made MyKronoz ZeClock. It looks like a regular wristwatch, but there’s a small OLED screen that shows your notifications and a built in microphone and speaker that lets you take calls and control your phone using Siri or Google Now. And MyKronoz has a whole range of interesting new smartwatches and fitness bands on show.

Keeping track of the kids in a busy place can be difficult. But the BeaWarn Bluetooth wristband is designed to let you know if the kids stray too far, helping you avoid the terrifying moment when you turn around to find they’ve vanished. It’s simple, strong and very convenient, but most of all, it’s a brilliant safety gadget.

It turns out that fitness trackers aren’t just for me and you, they’re for man’s best friend too. Petfit is an interesting smart collar that makes sure your dog is living an active life and staying in shape. It claims to be able to extend your dog’s life expectancy by up to 20%. How can you dislike something that lets you spend more time with your favourite pet?

We’ve already seen some remarkable wearables on day one of MWC, so why not catch up on the best of them here.
