PREMIUM SMARTWATCHES ON A BUDGET

Everyone loves the style and quality of a Swiss watch. But that mark of quality is something that’s been lacking in smartwatches – until now.

MyKronoz is a Swiss smartwatch company that launched a range of clever timepieces earlier this year. And now we’ve taken a first hand look at the complete range, from the impressively cheap ZeFit to the classically styled ZeClock. Here’s our pick of the most interesting.

MYKRONOZ ZECLOCK

Let’s start with the stylish ZeClock. at first glance, it looks just like a normal Swiss analog watch. It has real hands instead of a touchscreen and a regular crown on the side. But built into the face is a tiny OLED screen that shows all your notifications from your phone. And the watch has a built in speaker and microphone so you can make calls and control your phone using Siri or Google Now’s voice commands. The battery lasts up to four days and the watch is water resistant. Very stylish – the complete package.

MYKRONOS ZEPHONE

ZePhone is nowhere near as handsomeas the ZeClock, but it’s a full 3G smartphone that you wear on your wrist. That means it takes a SIM card so you don’t need to be paired to a smartphone to make calls or go online. It runs Android Jelly Bean, which means you can download apps straight to the watch, and there’s GPS so you can use it forgetting around.

MYKRONOZ ZECIRCLE

ZeCircle is a chic new fitness and sleep tracker. The water resistant aluminium body has an OLED touchscreen built in that shows the time, your fitness stats – like heart rate and steps taken – and your notifications. But the best thing about it is that it feels like an ultra-slim wristwatch rather than a bulky gadget.

The MyKronoz range is priced from USD $49 – $199, and with pricing and quality like that, we really hope at least some of these new smartwatches make it to the UK.
