7 things you didn't know were on Spotify

Revolutionise your listening habits

Spotify is one of the most popular music-streaming services on the internet, but what many avid users don’t realise is that it can deliver much more than just music. Below we’ve listed a few ideas to help you get more out of your monthly subscription.

En Anglais, s'il vous plait

Expand your mind by learning a new language. Spotify has curated a range of playlists offering you the opportunity to learn a new language - including Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Chinese to name a few. To search, type in "Learn (and your language of choice)"

Just the classics

There’s also a bunch of literary classics on Spotify available to listen to at any time, including the likes of George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World (narrated by the man himself), Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and Jack Kerouac’s On The Road.

Watch TV shows and enjoy Podcasts

Belive it or not, Spotify is no longer just an audio experience. TV shows, news, sports highlights, Podcasts, and more from big names like BBC, VICE, and Comedy Central are currently available through the mobile app on iOS and Android. To get involved, navigate to Browse > Podcasts & Videos. You're welcome.

Tune into drama

In the digital age of the World Wide Web and streaming services, less people are listening to the radio than ever. But that doesn’t mean you can’t relive some of the classic sci-fi and crime dramas through Spotify.

Lose yourself with poetry

There are absolutely loads of poetry playlists available on Spotify - who knew? From relatively unknown authors, to The Bard himself, there’s something for everyone - even a playlist called A Hipster’s Guide to Poetry.

Find your inner peace

Whether you’re looking for some spiritual music to accompany your yoga and breathing exercises, or you’re after guided mediation, it’s all inside Spotify. There’s a dedicated guided mediation playlist, offering deep relaxation and enhanced self-awareness.

“I have a dream…”

That’s right, in the depths of the Spotify’s library is a bank of speeches from famous speakers throughout the 20th century. Some of the headliners include Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Malcolm X, and Nelson Mandela. You know - all the hits.
