Great downloads for Halloween 2017

Halloween is just around the corner. Tis the season for trick or treating, pumpkin carving and enjoying your favourite scary movie or TV show. If you can’t bear to be apart from your smartphone while all this is going on, here are a few Halloween-themed games and apps for you to download - if you dare…

The Simpsons: Tapped Out (free on iOS and Android)

Springfield’s finest mobile building game has been updated for Halloween with a new Treehouse of Horror story. It involves an evil sorcerer and a horde of magical beasts trying to take over the town with dark magic. Only you can stop them – good luck.

Lots of other Fox mobile games have had a Halloween update, so check out the likes of Family: Guy The Quest for Stuff and Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow to see what’s new.

Into the Dead 2 (free on iOS and Android)

Into the Dead is back with a much-improved second instalment. The graphics are more colourful and the weapons are more powerful - but the basic premise remains the same. Make your way through a zombie apocalypse to save your family. Arm yourself with an awesome arsenal, and don’t become a zombie’s dinner. Simple stuff, yet incredibly addictive.

Creepy Tales (free on Android)

If you’re in the mood for a scary story, look no further than Creepy Tales. It’s a fantastic collection of short stories, tales and urban legends designed to disturb, shock and terrify. The story categories give you an idea of what to expect – you can choose from the likes of ‘Instructions to Evil’, ‘Secret of our Minds’ and ‘Ghost and Demons’. We’re scared already.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things has happened. The full season 2 is now ready for you to enjoy on your Netflix app, and the first episode has the town preparing for Halloween. So sit back, relax, and binge on more eighties films and TV references (the gang dress up as Ghostbusters at one point), plus a few more trips to the Upside Down. And if all that wasn’t enough, Stranger Things: The Game is here to enjoy.

If you’ve got suggestions for other Halloween-themed apps and games that are worth downloading, let’s hear them. Share your comments below.
