The long-awaited Daydream View VR headset is finally here. If you’ve got your hands on one, it’s time to get downloading and enjoy some of the best apps it has to offer. This is what Google Daydream View can do…


Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

Inline with the upcoming Harry Potter spin off film of the same title, you’re invited to join Newt Scamander on his travels and perform spells using Google’s controller.

Wonder Glade

In Wonder Glade, you’re in a sort of fairytale forest theme park world, in which you can enjoy heart-warming mini games using the Daydream controller.

Need for Speed: No Limits

At the complete other end of the spectrum is Need for Speed: No Limits. It’s the first NFS title to come to VR, and the premise is simple. Become the best underground racer there’s ever been, and make sure your car’s got what it takes under the hood to get you there.


YouTube VR

It’s been a long time coming, but YouTube has finally got its own VR channel with Daydream View. Watch videos on the big virtual screen, and enjoy immersive VR experiences from the best creators in the business.


Netflix’s VR app is the perfect place to relax after a long day at the office. You’re transported to a plush, secluded cabin on the slopes, where you can enjoy your favourite films and series’ on a massive virtual screen.


Rhomaleosaurus: Back To Life

You’re in the Natural History Museum after hours, and a Jurassic giant is keen to join you. This comfortable experience brings you face to face with a 7-meter Rhomaleosaurus, which swims up and down the corridors - which are now filled with water - catching fish. Fun for all ages.


Jaunt VR

Jaunt is a great place to start if you’re looking for a musical avenue to explore in virtual reality. With 360 performances from the likes of Paul McCartney and Jack White, you can stand on stage and experience the music like never before.

How do I get apps on Google’s Daydream View headset?

It’s easy to download any of these apps. When you slot your Daydream-ready smartphone into the front of the headset, the VR experience will launch automatically. You then just have to point your controller towards the Play Store and get searching.
