You’ve got a big data allowance, so why not use it! Carphone Warehouse has got some great recommendations for the best apps to use while on the go.

Video streaming apps

YouTube has more variety than any other video website in the world. There’s something for anyone no matter what your taste. The app is fast, easy to use and of course free.

BBC iPlayer is a brilliant app. It now lets you watch live TV, listen to the radio, catch up on programs you missed and there’s even the option to download programs to watch offline later. It’s free, the videos are in great quality and the variety is excellent too.

If you’re more into movies, Netflix is a clear winner. For just £5.99 a month you can watch unlimited movies and TV series on your computer or smartphone. The smartphone app is brilliant and lets you stream across Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Music streaming apps

Beats Music gives you a huge amount of pre-picked playlists with fun and unique genres. Many are chosen by famous artists too, giving you a taste of what your favourite musicians listen to.

Get unlimited music for free with Spotify! With the largest catalogue of music, and even landing many exclusives, Spotify is one of the biggest names in music streaming and a must have music app.

Cloud storage apps
Why limit the amount of videos, photos or anything else to what fits on your phone? Apps like Dropbox let you store files on the internet. If you’ve a few movies you want to watch or an album or too, upload them to Dropbox. The app then lets you stream them to your phone and watch them anywhere you want.

Multiplayer games

Real Racing 3 is possibly the best racing game ever to make it to a smartphone. And you don’t need to play it alone. The online player mode lets you race a whole group of mates, and you can do it from home or away.

Not into racing? Well try Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, the best first person shooter for smartphones. One of the first games to feature console level graphics and online multiplayer you and your friends can blast at each other all day from anywhere.
