Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 review

We love the size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. It’s fantastically portable but still has Samsung’s S Pen stylus and all the brilliant features that it brings.

DESIGN

The Note 8.0 follows the design of the Galaxy S3. It’s got curved corners and a smooth back cover that give it a good look. And we like that the whole tablet is quite small. We actually think it’s the perfect balance between portability and screen size.

CAMERA

There’s a 5MP camera on the back of the Note 8.0 that takes some really nice photos. There are loads of features on the camera app that we enjoyed playing with as they let you create some cool shots. And it’s really easy to share the photos you’ve taken straight from the gallery.

ENTERTAINMENT

The 8” HD screen and quad core processor make games and movies really enjoyable. We found that there was loads of power to keep everything running smoothly. And the brightness of the screen made it really good.

PRODUCTIVITY

Note taking, Office document editing and artistic drawings are just some of the things you can get done on the Note 8.0 really easily. With the S Pen stylus, you get handwriting recognition that we found to work really well, so jotting down notes was easy. And the screen can sense more than 1,000 levels of pressure so you can draw really detailed pictures.

BATTERY

Battery life isn’t a problem for the Note 8.0. From our testing, we think most people would only need to charge the tablet a couple of times a week.

UNIQUE FEATURES

We love the S Pen. It has loads of apps, like Awesome Note. This has things like memo, diary and must-remember lists. And S Note and S Planner manage everyday tasks, including meeting notes, to-do lists and even personal diary entries. Plus the advanced Productivity Tools feature has formula, shape and text recognition, so your scribbles are turned into professional looking text.
