Microsoft Lumia 435 vs Nokia 201

It’s no secret that the times move quickly in the tech industry, and three years between mobile phones is a seriously a long time. The last time you looked at smartphones they were all very expensive and difficult to use – but now, things have changed.

For starters let’s quash the big question mark of cost. We can happily report that the Microsoft Lumia 435 costs about the same as the 201 did, while packing much more tech to bring you into the modern day.

The Lumia 435’s homescreen is bright and simple to use. You can set it up so everything is reached with large buttons, and is clearly labelled so it’s easy to find your way around. As there are no physical buttons other than the power and volume rocker, the controls for things like the phonebook, camera or dialler will all now be on the screen.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

You can add as much or as little as you want to the homescreen – it’s yours to personalise. Having one screen where you can find everything is just one advantage of having a smartphone as oppose to a feature phone like the Nokia Asha 201.

We guess the biggest thing to get over is the absent keyboard. Well, just like the 201, the 435 has a QWERTY keyboard, but this one is on the screen. It’s very accurate and is small enough so you won’t have to stretch too much with your thumbs. Again the size of the keys can be changed to make them easier to hit, but that’s totally up to your preference.

HELP IS ON HAND

But, the good news doesn’t stop there. There’s also your very own personal assistant built into the phone called Cortana. She will help you with all sorts, from texting friends, keeping track of things online, prompting reminders, or setting an alarm – Cortana makes life a whole lot easier.

If you think you might want to take the plunge into the smartphone pool, head down to your local Carphone Warehouse, or click this link to order your very own Microsoft Lumia 435 today.
