Now boys and girls, we’re going to show you how to turn your smartphone into a futuristic 3D holographic projector with just a few common household items.
To make your hologram projector you’ll need the following:
- A sheet of graph paper
- A clear CD case
- Sticky tape
- A pen
- A ruler
- A sharp knife
- And your smartphone
Start by drawing a rhombus on your graph paper. The short side should be 1cm long, the two angled side should be 3.5cm long and the long side should be 6cm long.
Now you want to use that rhombus as a template and cut four of them out of your CD case using a sharp knife. Be careful with the knife as it slips easily across the plastic case, ask an adult for help if you need to.
Once you’ve got your four plastic shapes, use sticky tape to hold them together in a sort of funnel shape. This is your holographic projector screen.
Now all you need to do is play a hologram video like this one on your smartphone, place your projector in the middle of the screen and enjoy an amazing 3D holographic experience.
If you want a better look at what you’re trying to make, here’s one made earlier by Mrwhosetheboss on YouTube (complete with step-by-step instructions).
