BlackBerry announce Android-powered KEYone

Barcelona – BlackBerry has just announced details of its new flagship phone at MWC 2017. It's called the BlackBerry KEYone (code-named 'Mercury'), and it’s a fantastic looking device with a physical keyboard…

The famous physical keyboard

Yes, the famous BlackBerry physical keyboard is present and correct. The keys are touch sensitive, so you can swipe up, down, left and right to speed up your typing and scrolling. There are also 52 customisable shortcuts, for everyday tasks like opening apps. And if all that wasn’t enough, there’s even a fingerprint scanner on the spacebar.

Above the keyboard, you’ll see the 4.5-inch Full HD display, with Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection.

Camera

The BlackBerry KEYone has a 12MP rear camera with the industry leading Sony IMX378 sensor on board. It's capable of shooting super-sharp 4K video, and takes great pictures in low-light conditions.

Round the front, there’s an 8MP camera that can handle selfies and Full HD video recording.

Under the hood

The BlackBerry KEYone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and runs Android 7.0 Nougat, Google’s latest software. It also has a large 3,505mAh battery and USB Type-C fast-charging, so keeping it powered up shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Would you like to own the BlackBerry KEYone as soon as it’s released in the UK? Then register on the Carphone Warehouse website now.
