Travelling is now easier and cheaper than ever

Following the recent advent of Google’s Street View app, we thought we’d explore some of the places now charted on the app that you mightn’t ever get a chance to see in person. To kick things off, let’s have a wander around the president of America’s digs…

White House, Washington DC, USA

The White House was officially completed in 1800, and has housed all US presidents since Thomas Jefferson moved in on 1 November 1801. It’s synonymous with American culture and until now, only a lucky few have been invited inside.

The TARDIS, Earl’s Court, London

Doctor Who fans will be thrilled with this one. The time machine-cum-spacecraft can be found outside Earl’s Court Underground station in London, and if you line up your Google Maps arrow just right, you can climb inside and check out the Time Lords’ fine work first hand.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

Google only recently mapped the Great Barrier Reef - just off the coast of Queensland, Australia. And, now you can enjoy the majesty of Mother Nature easier than ever. The Reef is the largest of its kind on the planet, made up of over 900 islands stretching over 1,400 miles.
