Asus smartwatchAsus is apparently preparing to launch its first smartwatch at the IFA technology show in Berlin at the start of September.

The new smartwatch, which should run Android Wear software, is said to be better looking and cheaper than other smartwatches.

These claims apparently came from Asus CEO Jerry Shen, who also said that Google, which makes the Android Wear software, had liked the smartwatch.

But Asus apparently doesn’t think its first smartwatch will be a big hit. That’s because it believes that global market for smartwatches won’t take off until the second half of 2015.

If the Asus smartwatch does turn out to be better looking that a Motorola Moto 360 and cheaper than its Android Wear competitors, we think it’ll be a big success.
