Winners of iPhone Photography Awards 2017

The best photography from iPhone-owners worldwide

The annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) are back, showing off the sheer power of the smartphone camera. The 10th anniversary saw thousands of entrants from over 140 countries around the globe, with the grand prize going to Sebastian Tomada.

Sebastian Tomada – Children of Qayyarah

The grand prize – ahead of first place - goes to New York’s Sebastain Tomada, with his chilling image of two children standing in a war-torn street in front of an oil fire in Iraq.

Brendan Ó Sé – Dock Worker

Ireland’s Brendan Ó Sé takes first place with his image of a dockworker’s cracked and weathered hands. Ó Sé is no stranger to smartphone photography, having hosted workshops in Cyprus, Iceland, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

Yeow-Kwang Yeo - The Performer

Second place goes to Singapore’s YK Yeo, with this image of a sleeping entertainer. The freelance photographer commented that he was “attracted by the lighting of the old plastic curtain, electric fan, and the overall calm atmosphere.”

Kuanglong Zhang - The City Palace

China’s Kuanglong Zhang’s colourful shot of a member of palace staff staring out the window in Udaipur, India, picked up third prize.

Entry is open for the 2018 award already - you can register here. And to check out all of the award winners, head over to the IPPAWARDS website.
