9 signs you've got upgrade fever

If you're having trouble waiting for upgrade day, you're not alone.

You can’t beat that new phone feeling. You know what we mean. It’s that heady mix of pride, satisfaction and joy that you get when you switch on your new phone for the first time and hold it aloft. Look at that amazing display. Feel those curves in your hand…

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves a little. Because before you get your hands on your new phone, you’ve got to play the waiting game known as ‘countdown to upgrade day’.

You know you're eligible because you’ve completed our upgrade eligibility checker. And now you’re just waiting for us to tell you when the big day has arrived.

Some people can handle it fine, and go about their day-to-day business without a care in the world.

For others though, that wait for a new phone is a little tougher. Are you this kind of person? Then you might be able to recognise some of the warning signs below.

1. Your old phone is starting to annoy you.

2. Seeing someone else with a new phone is starting to annoy you.

3. You have trouble sleeping. You’re too excited.

4. Your aimless doodles now look like this.

5. You start to get a little impatient.

6. Even the songs you listen to remind you of phones.

7. You’ve now gone beyond the doodling stage.

8. And the waiting keeps going on, and on, and on.

9. But finally, you calm down and start acting reasonably.

So, do you recognise this kind of behaviour? Are you having trouble holding on until upgrade day?

If you really can’t wait, then you might not have to. Some networks allow you to upgrade before your contract ends. We can process early upgrades over the phone or in-store, so give us a call us on 0800 049 6248 - or use our store locator to find your nearest Carphone Warehouse.

Until then, stay strong. You’ll have that new phone feeling before you know it.
